Event schedule — October 8–11, 2026
The general-attendee event begins October 8. October 7 is a VIP-only arrival date and applies only when the selected booking and confirmation say so.
Thursday, October 8 — General arrival and check-in
The published general-attendee event window begins at 2:00 p.m. Central.
Friday, October 9 — Challenges, education, and potluck
Follow the final run assignments and instructions. Friday dinner is a community potluck.
Saturday, October 10 — Challenges, education, and BBQ
Saturday includes the published Texas BBQ dinner.
Sunday, October 11 — Final programming and departure
The published event window ends at 4:30 p.m. Central.
Choose the track your rig and experience support
TrailRecon Challenge — Blue and Green
Suitable for 32-inch-plus tires and some stock vehicles. Final route fit depends on the specific vehicle, driver, and current conditions.
Extreme — Black
For experienced drivers in modified vehicles with 37-inch-plus tires, a winch, and lockers.
Double Black — Double Black
For highly experienced drivers with 37-inch-plus tires, dual lockers, winches, and armor.
Expedition — Team challenge
Teams of four to five combine recovery, navigation, survival, geology, and Leave No Trace learning. Suitable for 32-inch-plus tires and some stock vehicles.
Required
A current MERUS waiver for every participant; a parent or legal guardian completes a minor’s waiver.

The vehicle, tire, locker, winch, armor, and driver-experience requirements published for the selected track.

Working safety, communication, and recovery equipment required by MERUS and the final event instructions.
